The US Department of Commerce has today issued a Final Determination prohibiting Kaspersky Lab from providing its antivirus and cybersecurity software and services in the United States, the first use of its ICTS supply-chain powers.

- New sales to US customers are prohibited from 20 July 2024.
- Software updates, signature updates and resale are prohibited from 29 September 2024.
- The ban applies to Kaspersky and its affiliates, subsidiaries and parent companies.
- It sits alongside the existing ban on federal use of Kaspersky products under FAR 52.204-23.
UK organisations with US operations should check whether Kaspersky products are in use there, including in bundled or white-labelled products, and plan replacements to avoid unsupported endpoint protection.
