The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) has published the 2023 version of its CyberFundamentals (CyFun) Framework.
CyFun is a set of concrete measures designed to protect data, reduce the risk of the most common cyber-attacks and increase cyber resilience. It is based on the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and maps to ISO/IEC 27001, IEC 62443 and CIS Controls.
Assurance levels
- Small: a starting point for micro and small organisations.
- Basic: for organisations facing standard threats.
- Important: for organisations facing targeted attacks by skilled attackers.
- Essential: the highest level, for organisations facing advanced threats.
The CCB is aligning CyFun with the NIS2 Directive, so that Belgian essential and important entities can use CyFun (or ISO/IEC 27001) to demonstrate compliance. Organisations with Belgian operations or clients should take note.
